QUALIFICATIONS
Degree for an Occupational Therapy Program (preferred) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Hold a valid WV Occupational Therapy license Certifiable as a Medicaid provider.
JOB GOAL
The person assigned to Itinerant Occupational Therapist is to provide integrated occupational therapy classroom supports, including group and individual therapy, for effective implementation of the Pre
K BRIDGE
Therapeutic Intervention Program, and deliver/case manage the OT services needs at the assigned school for exceptional students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides continuous support to the two Pre
K BRIDGE
Therapeutic Intervention Program classrooms Collaborates with the Pre
K BRIDGE
staff to ensure appropriate sensory and regulation needs of all students are met Ensures continuous evaluation of student's needs and progress of OT needs of all students in the Pre
K BRDIGE
Therapeutic Intervention Program. Evaluates orthopedically impaired students specifying appropriate therapy in a timely manner. Provides occupational therapy at the assigned school location as specified in the Individual Education Program or 504 Plans. Serves as Medicaid provider to refer and deliver services for occupational therapy and any other services required by Medicaid procedure. Participates in BRIDGE program meetings, as well as MDET, Eligibility and IEP Committee Meetings. Participates in the development of the Individualized Education Program. Develops Participates in trans-disciplinary therapy, between related service providers, and conducts training and modeling with educators, special educators and/or aide in building for continuity/repetition. Develops therapy schedule with the building administrator and BRIDGE support team. Develops and prepares materials and equipment to be used in delivering therapy and supporting all Pre
K BRIDGE
classroom and student needs. Formulates individual occupational therapy plans when appropriate. Assists the
SLP, ABA
Specialist and teachers in modifying activities to promote all students motor development, regulation and sensory needs for participation in various activities. Assists classroom personnel with activities of daily living for the student; i.e., self care, eating, dressing, toileting, and mobility in conjunction with Physical Therapist. Demonstrates unbiased attitudes in fulling administrative responsibilities. Provides in-service education. Provide supervision for COTA (if applicable) Maintains OT service provider duties for all required paperwork Follows WVDE Policy 2419 requirements Other duties as assigned
