Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students as a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact by delivering hands-on therapy within a collaborative educational environment. The assignment begins August 4, 2026, and continues through May 27, 2027, with the option of Extended School Year (ESY) work for those seeking additional experience. As a COTA, you'll provide direct intervention services to high school-aged students under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, who will collaborate with you virtually. You'll help empower students to reach their functional and academic goals, fostering greater independence and participation in school routines.
Qualifications and Experience:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (required) Active COTA license for the state of Arizona (or eligibility to obtain) Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills, comfortable working with remote supervision Familiarity with IEP processes and implementation
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions to high school students individually and in small groups Collect and document data on student progress and communicate findings to the virtual supervising OT Collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success Assist in adapting classroom materials and activities to meet students' needs Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and district standards Discover the satisfaction of making a difference in a supportive setting, with opportunities for professional growth and the chance to extend your impact into summer ESY if desired.
