Job Description

The Rehabilitative Services Aide (HA 2) reports to the therapists of a particular service or discipline (OT/PT/SLP) and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. At this level, the employee is responsible for the treatment of patients who require the direct supervision and daily guidance of an Occupational, Physical and/or Speech therapist. The Rehabilitative Services Aide works primarily with adult, geriatric, adolescent patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although pediatric patients may be treated if the Rehab Aide has completed required competency training. The Rehabilitative aide actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, in-services and staff development activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Prior clinical-based experience requiring interaction with patients. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to recognize signs of distress. Possession of a high school diploma. Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification. Basic computer skills in word processing and online communication. Possession of excellent interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiation skills. Ability to work at all UCSF sites
