Overview The PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant II is responsible for providing Occupational therapy treatment to patients of all ages under the direction and supervision of Occupational therapist. All procedures are carried out in accordance with established standards, policies, protocols and guidelines. Participates in COTA student supervision, in servicing of staff, program development and special projects. O.T.A license in the State of Illinois required. CPR Certification preferred. If applicable, must possess valid Illinois drivers license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy (5 year MVR will be required).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 yrs of experience required
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Basic computer skills required. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with patients, families, peer and other team members as needed for assessment, intervention, and professional development. Must be physically able to lift, support, move patients 50•100 lbs. Responsibilities Universal Precautions Category I. Provides quality patient treatment. Provides accurate and timely documentation as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Provides interdepartmental communication with areas such as nursing, social service, and occupational therapy. Serves as a clinical resource for COTA's and rehab techs.
