Job Description
SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a Rehab Aide to join our Outpatient Rehab team. This role will provide support across specialty areas including outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology within our Clinic & Specialty Center. This fulltime role will work days ( Monday- Friday). Preferred schedule is 9:00 AM
- 5:30 PM, alternative scheduling arrangements may be considered based on candidate qualifications and department needs.
Purpose of this position:
Under close supervision of therapists (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist), performs work in a service position to assist, transport and prepare therapy patients for procedures. Maintains treatment area.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transports patients to and from treatment areas using wheelchairs and standing support
- Assists therapists with preparing patients for procedures
- Secures patient onto therapy equipment
- Assists therapists with treatments, exercises and functional activities under direct supervision
- Prepares, cleans and maintains work area and disinfects equipment after treatment
- Performs inventory and stocking of supplies and equipment
- Performs clerical duties
- Processing inpatient orders
- Cancelling appointments
- Simple patient check-ins
- Answering phones, performing call-backs, retrieving voice messages
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years post high school education in a pre-Physical Therapy or pre-Occupational Therapy science based curriculum
- OR•Current student enrollment in an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or related healthcare rehabilitation program•OR•Possession of a nursing assistant certificate•OR•One year experience as a nursing assistant (six months of which mush have been in one facility).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a nursing or Physical Therapy aide
- Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record software
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift and position patients
- Ability to work flexible shifts
