• SSM Health Day Institute is seeking a COTA to work in our specialized outpatient rehabilitation program.

We have ten centers across the St. Louis Metro area serving individuals recovering from a traumatic injury or illness who no longer require 24-hour nursing or acute rehabilitative care. • Responsibilities
• COTAs perform patient-related tasks assigned by the therapist, including but not limited to:
• + Under the direct supervision of licensed OT, assists with the implementation of therapy plan of care in the Day Room Setting + Responsible for delegation an direction of support personnel for those assigned patients, in order to enhance patient care services in the Day Room Setting + Participates in education of patients, families, coworkers, and self + Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, within the scope of practice + Assists patients to/from mats, wheelchairs, other equipment as appropriate; assist patients with transfer activities + Assists with patient-related treatment activities as appropriate + Engages with patients, supporting therapeutic goals in individual and group settings;Task initiation and group facilitation + Documentation and billing/charging of skilled activities as applicable + Upgrading and downgrading tasks for patient engagement + Plans and transports for Community Reintegration Outings + Maintains the clinic and clinic equipment in a clean and orderly condition + Transports patients to /from therapy as needed •Qualifications•Minimum Qualifications•+

Education:

Associate's Degree in an OT Assistant program required + Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required + Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification + Class E license allowing for the operation of the shuttle bus prior to the start date.
