5 hours/daily Position Summary Independence Local Schools is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered Educational Aide to provide supervision and support for students during lunch and recess. The successful candidate will help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment while encouraging appropriate student behavior and positive interactions. Qualifications High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required. Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit (or ability to obtain through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce). Successful completion of all required background checks. Experience supervising elementary-aged students (Kindergarten through Grade 4). Ability to foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful environment. Clerical and basic computer skills are a plus. Ability to effectively supervise students in a school setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Active listening skills. Patience, compassion, and understanding when working with children. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families. Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and an exemplary work ethic. Work Schedule/Compensation 2.5 hours per day 188 school days, as defined by the district calendar Additional time may be required for meetings, professional development, or school events. Hourly rate of $16.37
