Job Description

As a Rehab Attendant 1, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their rehabilitation journey by assisting therapists with treatment sessions and ensuring a safe, clean, and encouraging environment. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about patient care and eager to contribute to a collaborative healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
Stay current with discipline-specific skills and techniques through ongoing education and training. Attend required continuing education courses, workshops, and seminars. Assist therapists by setting up treatment areas and gathering necessary supplies and equipment. Clean and maintain equipment and treatment areas after sessions. Prepare patients for therapy by providing appropriate gowns, linens, and ensuring comfort. Change linens on beds and treatment tables; manage linen inventory and storage. Support patients with walking, activities of daily living (ADLs), and routine exercises under therapist supervision. Safely assist patients in and out of wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Escort patients to and from rehabilitation areas for scheduled treatments. Maintain accurate departmental logs in accordance with UPMC Washington policies.
Schedule:
This position will work 3-5 rotating days per week, Monday- Friday with the shifts being 5.5-6.5 hours long. The shifts start times can start as early as 8:30AM and as late as 10AM. There will be an occasional weekend with the hours being either be 8AM-11AM or 8:30AM - 11:30AM. May be subject to work other days/shifts based on hospital needs. Will provide assistance with inpatient and outpatient therapy clinics.
