We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team in Houston and the surrounding areas. Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)Job Summary:
A licensed professional who provides coordinated care to patients as per the Plan of care and under the supervision of an occupational therapist. Provide care/treatment to the patient based on physical, psycho, and/or cognitive impairments Provide intervention to the deficit and elicit responses Collaborates with interdisciplinary teamJob Qualifications:
Education:
Associate / Diploma / Bachelor of Science inOccupational Therapy Licensure:
Current Texas State License as anOccupational Therapy Assistant Experience:
1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Home Healthcare or Acute care or Rehabilitation settingSkills:
Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice Good interpersonal skills and communication Current CPR Knowledge of durable medical equipment Spanish is aPlus Essential Functions:
Perform care according to the plan of care and treatment plan developed by OT and approved by the physician Supervision and coordination by the Supervising OT Provide therapeutic treatments and use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications, fabricate and maintain adaptive equipment and hand splints as applicable Evaluate outcomes of care and measurable goals Apply concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease Accept clinical assessments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients. Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner Meet mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/license board Use effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to advise and consult with the family and other agency personnel as appropriate Demonstrate commitment, professional growth and competency Promote Agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of careBenefits:
