Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting occupational therapists in delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including clinics, acute care facilities, and home health environments. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to implement care plans effectively while working with diverse populations, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Duties Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, ensuring safety and comfort during therapy sessions. Document patient progress and report any changes to the supervising occupational therapist. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and activities to promote recovery. Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, adhering to safety protocols. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Qualifications Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Experience in various settings such as clinic, acute care, home health, or occupational health is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology related to occupational therapy practices. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in improving the lives of patients through rehabilitation. Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual patient needs, particularly in pediatrics and geriatrics.
