Job Description

Overview We are actively seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in various settings, including home health, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and inpatient environments. The Occupational Therapy Assistant will support licensed occupational therapists in delivering patient-centered care aimed at improving functional independence and quality of life. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients across different settings. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises. Provide therapeutic interventions to promote motor skills, coordination, and cognitive functions for diverse patient populations such as geriatrics and pediatrics. Help monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately and thoroughly. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and strategies to enhance ongoing recovery at home or in outpatient settings. Participate in home health visits, outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and skilled nursing facilities to deliver consistent therapy services. Maintain compliance with medical imaging protocols, physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medical terminology standards essential for effective patient care. Skills Strong knowledge of assisting with ADLs and supporting patients through various therapeutic activities. Experience working in home health, outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or skilled nursing facilities. Familiarity with acute care environments and outpatient therapy settings. Ability to interpret care plans and adapt interventions based on patient needs. Proficiency in physiology and anatomy to understand patient conditions thoroughly. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and educating patients. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practice. Prior experience working with geriatric populations or pediatric patients is highly valued. Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of patient care across diverse clinical environments.
