Job Description
Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract A contract opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support school-based services during the 2026-2027 academic year. This position offers the flexibility of a part-time (.5) or full-time schedule, providing essential occupational therapy services to students in a school setting. Located in Auburn, CA, this role requires a passionate and skilled COTA who is dedicated to helping children achieve their fullest potential through therapeutic interventions tailored to the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with occupational therapists, educators, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students Deliver occupational therapy services that address developmental, physical, and cognitive needs Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines Provide consultation and support to classroom staff and families to enhance student participation and success Utilize professional judgment and evidence-based practices within the scope of your certificationPreferred Qualifications:
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience working in school-based occupational therapy settings Strong communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams plus ability to engage with students and families Knowledge of educational laws and regulations as they pertain to occupational therapy services Commitment to professional growth and delivering student-centered care This position offers a rewarding experience in a supportive school environment with the opportunity to impact student achievement directly.
