Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - PRN San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation | Pay Range $40-$42 San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis . This is a great opportunity to make a difference while enjoying schedule flexibility and competitive pay. General Purpose The COTA assists the Occupational Therapist in providing patient-related activities and direct care, supporting residents in achieving their highest level of independence and quality of life. Essential Duties Provide treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Follow physician treatment plans for each patient. Document daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification per OT Board/state requirements. Communicate patient progress, concerns, and plans with the supervising OT and care team. Assist nursing staff in training Restorative Aides. Participate in facility in-service training programs. Provide caregiver and family education in preparation for discharge. Participate in discharge planning. Assist with maintaining a safe and clean treatment area. Report equipment issues to ensure proper function. Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff. Qualifications Current COTA license in the state of California. Proficient in therapy documentation systems (e.g., Casamba, PointClickCare). Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to interpret and follow care plans, policies, and procedures. Must meet state continuing education requirements and maintain licensure in good standing. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift/move 20-50 lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance. Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to meet patient needs. Why Join Us?
