Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based environment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), working directly with elementary students near Long Beach, CA. This part-time contract role allows you to make a positive impact while enjoying a balanced schedule, supporting young learners in their academic and functional growth.
Key Qualifications and Desired Background:
Current COTA certification required Experience in a school setting, especially with elementary age students, highly valued Proficiency in delivering occupational therapy interventions tailored to individual education plans (IEPs) Strong ability to collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist, teachers, and support staff Excellent organizational and communication skills
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Providing direct occupational therapy services to elementary students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Supporting development of fine motor, sensory-motor, and self-help skills required for classroom participation Implementing activities and therapeutic strategies in accordance with students' IEP goals Maintaining clear and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions Partnering with teachers, staff, and families to promote the generalization of skills into everyday classroom routines
