In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care across diverse settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through personalized therapy interventions. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises, fostering independence and confidence. Provide therapy services across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Help monitor patient progress by documenting responses to therapy interventions and updating care plans accordingly. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment to promote ongoing recovery at home. Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes. Requirements Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Current state licensure or registration as required by local regulations. Proven experience assisting with ADLs, home health services, acute care, outpatient therapy, or skilled nursing facilities. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles. Familiarity with developing and following care plans tailored to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Experience working in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, or medical imaging environments is preferred. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to motivate and support individuals through their recovery journey. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a compassionate approach.
