What's it like to work with KARE?
Some typical responsibilities include:
Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist and adhere to community documentation guidelines. Record treatments given and progress notes in medical record. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area. Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Record treatment charges per the community policy and procedures. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in a maintenance program. Report any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behavior. May require experience with evaluating and treating residents with memory impartment if assigned to memory care areas of community. Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) therapy program. Current state licensure for Texas. Fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. CPR Certification (optional).
Minimum requirement:
2 years clinical experience, and/or 1 year clinical experience directly in acute care, skilled nursing and/or AL/MC. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs on a regular basis and ability to help patients who require physical assistance.
