Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity that makes a difference in students' lives across a vibrant school community. This full-time opening is ideal for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) drawn to working district-wide with students from Pre-K through 12th grade. The assignment begins August 27, 2026, and is expected to last about 12 weeks, providing vital support during an FMLA leave—with the potential for extension.
What You'll Need:
Active COTA licensure in Connecticut (CT DPH license and successful NBCOT exam completion) Previous school-based experience strongly preferred Reliable transportation to multiple campuses Comfortable working with children and youth spanning a broad age and needs range Strong communication and documentation skills
What You'll Do:
Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Carry out treatment plans tailored to student goals and diverse abilities Document student progress, maintaining thorough and timely records Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to ensure holistic student support Work district-wide, adapting to various school settings and student populations Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for supporting optimal student learning This is a district-wide position, providing approximately 7-7.5 hours of fulfilling work each day (final hours to be confirmed by the district).
