Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling role supporting students throughout an entire district as a school-based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This contract opportunity is designed for a compassionate and skilled COTA to cover an FMLA leave starting August 27, 2026, coinciding with the first day of school. As a district-wide position, you will make an impact across Pre-K through 12th-grade classrooms, contributing to students' growth and success in their educational environment.
Qualifications:
  • Active COTA license/certification (CT DPH License and NBCOT Exam passed)
  • School-based experience highly valued
  • Previous work with a variety of student ages and disability populations preferred
  • Reliable transportation essential due to district-wide coverage
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with Occupational Therapists, educators, and families
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to execute treatment plans
  • Support students in building functional and academic skills
  • Serve the needs of diverse learners across multiple campuses in the district
  • Accurately document daily progress, treatment sessions, and communications
  • Participate in team meetings, providing insight on student progress and strategies
  • Adapt interventions creatively according to student needs and school settings This full-time position spans approximately 12 weeks, with the potential for extension.
Schedules are expected to be around 7-7.5 hours daily, pending final district confirmation.
