Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding school-based position supporting students' growth and independence. A full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is needed for approximately 12 weeks, starting August 27, 2026, to provide coverage during an FMLA leave. This district-wide opportunity allows you to make a positive impact on learners from Pre-K through 12th grade, working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and collaborating with diverse educational teams. The role offers a highly engaging day-to-day routine, combining hands-on therapy, creative interventions, and meaningful collaboration with teachers and staff. As a valued team member, you will help implement individualized treatment plans, track student progress, and contribute to an inclusive educational environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active COTA license/certification (CT DPH License required; NBCOT Exam passed) Previous school-based experience preferred Experience working with students across Pre-K-12th grade a plus Comfortable supporting varied student needs and disability populations Reliable transportation for district-wide assignments Professional, flexible, and collaborative approach
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising OT Support development of student skills for classroom participation and daily living Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services and progress Engage and communicate with educational staff and families as needed Adapt to the needs of multiple campuses throughout the school district Participate in team meetings and align with educational and therapy goals This position features a structured full-time schedule, with approximately 7-7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday (final times to be confirmed by the district).
