Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by supporting their growth as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in a dynamic school environment. This district-wide, full-time contract role will have a direct impact across Pre-K through 12th grade, providing essential occupational therapy services under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist. The assignment is set to begin on August 27, 2026, and will initially cover a 12-week FMLA leave with potential to extend.
Role Highlights:
Full-time hours, approximately 7-7.5 hours per day Serve students ages Pre-K through 12th grade District-wide assignment—variety in caseload and settings Collaborate closely with an Occupational Therapist and diverse educational teams Virtual interviews for efficient candidate screening
Desired Qualifications:
Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license/certification (CT DPH license and current NBCOT credentials) Prior experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred Reliable transportation for travel between schools within the district Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities Ability to provide clear documentation and progress updates Effective communicator and collaborator with staff, families, and students
Key Responsibilities:
Implement individualized occupational therapy plans created by the supervising OT Support student achievement of IEP/504 goals through therapeutic interventions Track and document student progress Adapt activities and environments to optimize student participation Partner with teaching staff and related service providers to holistically support students Take the next step toward advancing your career and supporting students' development throughout the district.
