Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Cape Coral, FL 33991 From $35 an hour - Full-time Family Initiative 3 reviews From $35 an hour - Full-time Job Description The purpose of this job is to provide Occupational Therapy services to the pediatric population with various disabilities. The COTA will work with families who have children who are on the Autism Spectrum and other disabilities to provide training and implementation of a Plan of Care in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Occupational Therapist Assistant responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, and modify therapeutic activities under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist that are consistent with client's goals needed to promote age-appropriate independence in fine motor coordination, activities of daily living (ADLs), sensory integration, social and/or play/leisure skills.
  • Provide clinical services in accordance with the Plan of Care or Occupational Therapist's directives and in accordance with Florida State Statutes
  • Participate in transdisciplinary treatment planning, follow up, and implement treatment objective, goal and plans
  • Maintain and complete accurate records, documentation, and data collection
  • Maintain clean, safe, and effective therapy equipment and environment
  • Complete timely documentation
  • Conduct regular home visits
  • Adhere to all data collection and documentation procedures
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout a work day
  • Ability to work variable hours (potential for evenings and weekends) Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
  • Board Certified/Florida State Licensed COTA
  • Previous pediatric experience preferred Other Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Effective listening skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Reliable transportation, driver's license, insurance
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to pass a level 2 background screening
  • Experience working with children
