As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work closely with patients to help restore independence, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life through individualized therapy programs. Position Summary The COTA provides rehabilitative treatment that improves mobility, relieves pain, increases strength, corrects disabling conditions caused by illness or injury, and restores functional independence with activities of daily living. This role works under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to carry out individualized treatment plans in the home health setting. Responsibilities Administer occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist Assist patients in improving daily living and functional skills Apply infection control and universal precaution standards during patient care Ensure continuity and quality of care through accurate and timely documentation Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members Promote agency philosophy, mission, and administrative policies Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist Qualifications Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required Home health or skilled nursing experience preferred Current CPR certification required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with current auto insurance Experience with HomeCare HomeBase preferred Strong communication, organization, and patient care skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, and kneel for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs.
