The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in assisting with patient care across diverse settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. This role offers an opportunity to support patients of all ages by helping them regain independence through tailored therapeutic interventions. The OTA will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement care plans that promote recovery, improve functional abilities, and enhance quality of life. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients across various clinical settings. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, and mobility exercises, to foster independence. Provide direct patient care by administering therapeutic activities designed to improve strength, coordination, and functional skills. Document patient progress accurately and communicate observations to the supervising therapist for ongoing assessment. Help maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, adhering to all safety protocols and infection control procedures. Contribute to the creation and adjustment of care plans based on patient needs and progress. Support patients in specialized areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, or occupational health by applying relevant techniques and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals—to ensure comprehensive patient care. Experience Prior experience assisting with ADLs in inpatient or outpatient settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated familiarity with home health environments and acute care facilities enhances effectiveness in this role. Experience working within skilled nursing facilities or clinics provides valuable insight into diverse patient needs. Knowledge of medical imaging, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology supports accurate documentation and effective patient support. Proven ability to work independently in a PRN capacity while maintaining high standards of patient care. Strong background in pediatrics or geriatrics is advantageous for addressing specific age-related needs. Previous hands-on experience supporting patients in outpatient or clinic settings will contribute to success in this position.
