Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through tailored therapy interventions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of diverse patient populations, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence. Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve strength, coordination, and functional abilities based on established treatment goals. Help monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately in medical records. Provide care in various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Educate patients and their families on exercises and strategies to maintain progress outside of therapy sessions. Maintain a safe and clean environment while adhering to all healthcare regulations and safety protocols. Qualifications Current certification as a Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, acute care, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities. Familiarity with assisting patients with ADLs and implementing care plans effectively. Strong understanding of inpatient and outpatient therapy practices as well as home health environments. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Prior experience in medical imaging or related fields is a plus but not required.
