Job Description

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide skilled therapy services that help residents improve their ability to perform daily living activities, maximize independence, and enhance quality of life.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed by the Occupational Therapist. Provide occupational therapy interventions including therapeutic activities, ADL (Activities of Daily Living) training, adaptive equipment use, and functional mobility tasks. Document residents' treatments, progress, and response to interventions in accordance with facility and regulatory standards. Communicate regularly with the supervising OT regarding residents' progress and recommend modifications to treatment plans when appropriate. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, adaptive strategies, and home safety techniques to promote continued independence. Adhere to facility policies, professional standards of practice, and all state and federal regulations.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current and valid certification/licensure as a
COTA. CPR
certification required (or must obtain upon hire). Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
