Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA

Position Overview:
  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist residents with therapeutic exercises and functional activities aimed at improving independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility.
  • Monitor resident responses during treatment sessions and communicate progress, concerns, or changes to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Support the use of adaptive equipment and provide instruction to residents and caregivers to promote safe and effective use.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment that fosters resident participation and comfort.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care
  • Accurately document treatment sessions, resident progress, and observations in accordance with facility policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines, infection control protocols, and OSHA standards to ensure regulatory compliance and resident safety. Education
  • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting preferred
  • Familiarity with PDPM and SNF documentation standards is a plus
