With locations in Hanover and Braintree, we are committed to empowering every individual through customized learning programs, vocational training, and community engagement. The Speech and Language Pathology Assistant provides therapeutic speech and language therapy to students individually, within small groups, or within a classroom, vocational, and/or residential setting under the supervision of the speech-language pathologist. _________________________________________________________________________________________
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in professional development and skills-based instruction as identified
  • Maintain required trainings
  • Attend work consistently and punctually, maintaining a professional presence during scheduled hours. Adheres to scheduled work hours. Operational
  • Provides individual, group, and consultative occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs.
  • Implement treatment plans to support students' functional, sensory, motor, self-care, and adaptive skill development
  • Collaborates with both internal and external partners to support student participation and educational success
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data on student performance to monitor progress, support IEP development, and prepare required reports
  • Assist with screenings and assessments as assigned
  • Adapt and modify classroom materials, equipment, and environments to enhance student access, participation, and independence
  • Support students in developing fine moto, visual motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including: hygiene, toileting, domestic tasks, community participation, social interaction, recreational activities, and behavioral regulation
  • Implement sensory strategies and therapeutic interventions designed to improve students' functional performance across educational, residential, and community settings
  • Assist in the selection, use, maintenance, and training of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and positioning devices as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and other required interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment notes, progress reports, and other records in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies __________________________________________________________________________________

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
(Indicate the minimum requirements for this position) Related Work Experience and Formal Education
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities through clinical employment, internships, practicum placements, or academic training is required
  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program is required Licensure
  • Current Massachusetts Occupational Therapy Assistant license, or ability to obtain, is required Skills/Abilities/Competencies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Must obtain and maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care __________________________________________________________________________________

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • 221 Work Schedule/ 30 hrs/week
  • Monday-Friday, hours 7:30-3:30
Pay:
$47,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
