In this energetic and rewarding position, you will collaborate closely with occupational therapists to deliver personalized therapy services across diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health environments. Your expertise will directly impact patient recovery journeys by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), implementing care plans, and providing compassionate care tailored to each individual's needs. We are committed to fostering a supportive environment where your skills in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology are valued and expanded. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence Support the implementation of individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists Provide therapy interventions in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health visits, and skilled nursing facilities Monitor patient progress and communicate observations to the supervising therapist for ongoing assessment and adjustment of treatment strategies Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive devices, and safety techniques to enhance recovery at home or in outpatient settings Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care that addresses physical, emotional, and social needs Qualifications Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Proven experience assisting with ADLs across diverse healthcare environments such as inpatient acute care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health settings Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles Familiarity with developing and following care plans tailored to pediatric or geriatric populations Excellent patient care skills with the ability to motivate and support individuals through their recovery process Ability to work effectively in inpatient or outpatient settings while managing multiple priorities Prior experience working with patients in skilled nursing facilities or providing home health services is highly desirable Join us in making a meaningful difference every day!
