Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of children and their families. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assess, develop, and implement personalized therapy plans to support children's developmental milestones across various settings. Your expertise will help children achieve independence in daily activities, improve motor skills, and foster overall well-being. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive care that promotes growth, confidence, and success for every child we serve. Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients to identify developmental needs and create tailored intervention plans. Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting to promote independence. Implement therapy techniques in outpatient clinics, schools, home health environments, or inpatient settings like hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and caregivers to coordinate care plans. Support discharge planning by preparing families and caregivers with strategies for continued progress at home or in community settings. Work with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other disabilities to improve sensory processing, motor skills, and functional independence. Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and case management records in compliance with healthcare standards. Experience Proven experience working with pediatric populations in diverse environments such as outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, or home health settings. Familiarity with early intervention programs and post-acute care services for children recovering from illness or injury. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pediatric development to inform effective therapy strategies. Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and implementing care plans for children with disabilities or developmental delays. Background working in acute care settings such as hospitals or ICU units is highly valued. Skilled nursing facility experience or outpatient clinic work that demonstrates your ability to deliver patient-centered care tailored to individual needs. Strong case management skills to coordinate services across multiple providers and support families through discharge processes.
