Occupational Therapy Assistant Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Mount Airy Nursing and Rehab, a premier provider of post-acute care services in Mount Airy, MD. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our patients regain independence and reach their maximum potential. Responsibilities:
Assist occupational therapists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients Conduct patient assessments and evaluations to identify areas of need and develop strategies for improvement Implement and lead occupational therapy interventions, including exercises and activities designed to improve patient function and independence Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and promote positive outcomes Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress, including treatment plans, goals, and outcomes Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in occupational therapy assistant studies or related field preferred Minimum 1 year of experience in occupational therapy or related field Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
