Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you'll play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through personalized therapy interventions. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to work across diverse settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. As a COTA, you will collaborate closely with occupational therapists to develop and implement tailored care plans that address each patient's unique needs, fostering progress and wellness every step of the way. Responsibilities Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and safety. Support the implementation of individualized care plans by executing therapeutic activities under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists. Provide care in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Help monitor patient progress by documenting responses to therapy interventions and reporting findings to supervising therapists. Facilitate therapy sessions for pediatric patients. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to enhance recovery outside of clinical sessions. Maintain accurate records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies, ensuring seamless communication across multidisciplinary teams. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support effective patient care. Experience assisting with ADLs and implementing therapy techniques in outpatient clinics. Familiarity with care planning processes for pediatrics. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals and educating patients about their treatment plans. Knowledge of occupational health principles to promote safety during therapy sessions. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a compassionate patient-centered approach. Pay:
