We are searching for our next team member as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where your passion for client care, empowerment and improving one's quality of life will make a meaningful difference in people's lives. In this role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement personalized treatment plans in a clinic-based setting working with children and adults diagnosed with a develomental and/or intellectual disability. Our comprehensive center provides aba, OT and ST services and we are looking for individuals who are creative, supportive and motivated to make a difference! Your energetic approach and dedication will help clients increase independence, improve daily functioning, and enhance their quality of life. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to grow professionally while making a positive impact in the community. Responsibilities Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence. Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists, including exercises and therapeutic activities tailored to each patient's needs. Support clients in a clinic-based setting Monitor client progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately in medical records. Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop comprehensive care plans that address physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. Educate their families on strategies to maintain progress and prevent setbacks post-treatment. Maintain compliance with all safety standards, medical terminology protocols, and physiology knowledge requirements during patient interactions. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Prior experience working with developmental disabilities, particularly Autism is preferred but not required. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and occupational health principles. Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to adapt interventions based on client progress. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating patients effectively. Ability to work independently in outpatient environments while adhering to safety standards.
