Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for an upcoming FMLA leave assignment near Kansas City, MO. This full-time, contract role is ideal for a COTA passionate about supporting student growth and collaborating with a diverse educational team. The assignment spans multiple school sites, providing valuable experience in both elementary and high school environments.
Key Qualifications:
Valid COTA licensure in Missouri Experience providing occupational therapy services in school settings Confidence working collaboratively with occupational therapists, educators, and school staff Strong communication skills for engaging students, families, and interdisciplinary teams Flexibility to manage a varied caseload across different sites Dedication to fostering student independence and participation in educational activities
What You'll Do:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions and support services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Provide direct and consultative services at several school locations, including classroom activities and small-group sessions Travel between Oakwood Manor Elementary, North Kansas City High School, Gracemor Elementary, and Northgate Middle School as needed Assist with documentation, progress monitoring, and communication with team members Support students with developing fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and functional life skills Contribute to the planning and adaptation of curriculum materials to meet diverse student needs The assignment is projected to run from August 24th to September 25th, with the possibility of extension. The hours will be roughly Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, covering a full-time week across assigned campuses.
