About the
Role:
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals in their recovery and rehabilitation processes. Your primary responsibility will be to assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans that help clients improve their daily living and work skills. You will work closely with patients to motivate and guide them through therapeutic exercises and activities tailored to their specific needs. This position requires a compassionate approach, as you will be directly involved in enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing physical, emotional, or developmental challenges. Ultimately, your contributions will help clients achieve greater independence and reintegrate into their communities successfully.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting. Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
Responsibilities:
Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities with clients to promote skill development. Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes to the supervising therapist. Educate clients and their families on exercises and activities to be performed at home. Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional.
