Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Take the next step in your career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic educational setting near Columbus, MS. You'll collaborate closely with teachers, occupational therapists, and school staff to empower students to achieve their highest potential by providing tailored therapy services within the school environment.
Key Qualifications:
Active COTA certification and current state licensure (or eligibility). Previous experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy settings is highly valued. Strong ability to communicate and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for every student. Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Main Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) by providing direct therapy services to students. Support occupational therapists in assessment, intervention planning, and progress monitoring. Adapt therapy activities to meet the varied needs of each student within classroom and group sessions. Maintain thorough records of student progress and communicate regularly with teachers, therapists, and families. Contribute to the creation of adapted materials and recommendations for classroom modifications. Participate in team meetings and professional development to enhance service delivery.
