Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the upcoming school year supporting both high school and elementary-aged students. This opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, providing the stability and structure ideal for professionals who enjoy making a difference in students' daily lives. You'll collaborate closely with experienced therapists and educational teams to promote student independence, enhance motor skills, and facilitate participation in academic and daily classroom activities. Your caseload will include diverse learners from 10th-12th grade as well as PreK-6th grade students across both high school and elementary school settings.
Qualifications:
Valid COTA certification and state licensure (as required) School-based and/or pediatric COTA experience preferred Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with students, staff, and families Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt interventions to different age groups Knowledge of documentation requirements in educational settings
Responsibilities:
Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an OTR/L Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students as specified in IEPs Track student progress, update documentation, and participate in meetings Collaborate with educators to modify classroom activities as needed for student success Engage students with creative strategies to develop and reinforce fine, gross, and sensory-motor skills This contract position offers the chance to positively impact students of all ages, expand your expertise in school-based practice, and collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
