Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in occupational therapy practices, with a focus on assisting patients across diverse settings to regain independence and improve their quality of life. As a COTA, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement treatment plans, support patient care, and promote functional recovery in various environments including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Support patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, and mobility exercises. Provide direct patient care across multiple settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health visits, and skilled nursing facilities. Monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately in accordance with facility protocols. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to promote independence outside of therapy sessions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and comprehensive patient care plans. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment while adhering to all safety regulations and standards. Contribute to the development of care plans by providing insights based on patient interactions and progress. Skills Proficiency in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional mobility tasks. Experience working in home health, acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities. Knowledge of medical imaging procedures relevant to occupational therapy assessments is a plus. Strong understanding of geriatrics, pediatrics, and adult populations' needs. Familiarity with physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care. Ability to interpret and apply care plans within various healthcare environments including inpatient and outpatient settings. Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and healthcare team members effectively. Prior experience working in occupational health or rehabilitation settings is highly desirable. $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
