Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver exceptional patient care across various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will help patients of all ages regain independence and improve their quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans for patients across diverse healthcare settings. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, and mobility, to promote independence. Provide hands-on therapy interventions for patients in inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment use. Document patient progress accurately and communicate updates to the supervising therapist to ensure optimal care delivery. Contribute to the assessment process by observing patient responses and reporting findings related to physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Maintain a safe and clean environment while adhering to all healthcare regulations and facility policies. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy. Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) in various settings such as geriatrics, pediatrics, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities. Familiarity with care plans development and implementation for diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Ability to work effectively in inpatient, outpatient, home health, or clinic environments with a focus on patient-centered care. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating patients about their treatment plans. Prior experience in medical imaging or occupational health is a plus but not required. Demonstrated ability to adapt therapy techniques based on individual patient needs and medical conditions.
