Hours Per Week Schedule:
Between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Rotating Weekends and Holidays) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Opportunity ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. (NDGCS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Montrose, New York. This role offers the opportunity to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, helping residents maintain and regain independence in their daily activities. Position Responsibilities Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by a licensed Occupational Therapist. Provide ADL training, therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and purposeful activities. Support upper-extremity function, fine motor skills, cognition, safety awareness, and functional independence. Assist with wheelchair positioning, adaptive equipment, hand orthotics, environmental modifications, and discharge planning programs. Monitor resident progress and promptly report changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Educate residents and caregivers on therapy strategies, equipment use, and safe performance of daily tasks. Maintain treatment areas, sanitize equipment, and complete accurate documentation. Minimum Qualifications Current and unrestricted New York State Occupational Therapy Assistant License. Minimum one year of Occupational Therapy Assistant experience. Strong communication, documentation, and patient-care skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Preferred Qualifications Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience. Long-Term Care, Geriatric Rehabilitation, ADL Training, Wheelchair/Seating, or Memory Care experience. Experience working with adaptive equipment and rehabilitation programs.
