Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our school team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services to students to improve their ability to perform daily activities. Duties Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist tailored to individual patient needs. Conduct therapeutic activities designed to improve patients' physical, emotional, and social well-being. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and strategies for improving daily living skills. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Uphold safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment. Skills The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices. Experience in various settings such as home health, inpatient care, acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and occupational health. Familiarity with medical terminology to effectively communicate within healthcare teams. Ability to engage with patients empathetically while motivating them through their rehabilitation journey. Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple patients and documentation requirements. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with other healthcare professionals and patient education.
