Why Join Our Practice? We're a small, growing private practice, so you'll have the opportunity to be known, supported, and involved in ways that can be harder to find in larger corporate settings. You'll have the opportunity to grow alongside the practice, receive hands-on mentorship, and have a voice in how your role develops. Because we're still growing, this role may be especially appealing to an OTA who wants to start with a smaller caseload, build confidence working with this population, and gradually take on more as referrals and availability align. Position Overview The Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will provide community-based / virtual services under OT supervision to autistic and ADHD children in Houston TX and surrounding areas including but not limited to Spring Branch, Heights, Pearland, Spring, Fulshear, Cypress, Pearland, and Sugar Land. Responsibilities Conduct occupational therapy treatment sessions in-home, in-school or telehealth Support clients with executive functioning, sensory regulation, daily routines, work participation, self-advocacy, and independent living skills Provide services that are neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and client-centered Collaborate with the parents and report to the supervising OT What We Offer Part-time W-2 employment Starting rate of $50 per client-facing hour Mileage reimbursement Flexible scheduling based on your availability Direct, accessible mentorship and clinical support Opportunity to help shape and grow an emerging area of occupational therapy practice
Qualifications Required:
Active Texas Occupational Therapy Assistant license Current NBCOT certification Professional liability insurance CPR/BLS certification Strong communication, documentation, and time-management skills Commitment to neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed care Experience or strong interest in working with autistic and ADHD children Ability to think creatively and develop practical strategies tailored to each client Openness to feedback, continued learning, and professional collaboration Reliable internet connection and a private setting for telehealth sessions
Preferred:
3+ years of experience in pediatric outpatient, home health, or telehealth Schedule This is a flexible, part-time position designed to give you control over your schedule and caseload. Your caseload will build gradually based on referrals, client needs, and your availability, allowing you to grow into the role at a comfortable pace. There are currently no required shifts or minimum caseload expectations.
