Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Full-Time! In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver exceptional patient care skilled nursing facility. Your expertise will help clients of all ages—pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders—achieve their independence and improve their quality of life. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while honing your skills in occupational therapy practices. Duties Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility to support patient independence Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols and goals Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and caregivers to optimize patient outcomes Support pediatric occupational therapy interventions for children with childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder Conduct patient assessments, document care activities accurately, and maintain detailed care records in compliance with healthcare regulations Facilitate patient transport within facilities or to external appointments while ensuring safety through manual handling techniques Provide care documentation and communicate clearly with clients and caregivers about treatment progress and care strategies Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Proven experience working in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facility, or home health settings Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and care plan implementation Experience assisting with ADLs and supporting patients with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities Familiarity with pediatric occupational therapy techniques for children with autism and developmental delays Ability to perform manual handling safely and efficiently in various environments including geriatrics and acute care settings Excellent communication skills for caregiver and client interactions; ability to collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams Basic understanding of medical imaging procedures is a plus but not required Embark on a fulfilling career where your skills directly enhance the lives of those you serve.
