Occupational Therapist (OT) / Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Full-Time & Per Diem AVIR at Enchanted Rock 210 W Windcrest Street Fredericksburg, TX 78624 About AVIR at Enchanted Rock AVIR at Enchanted Rock is a patient-centered rehabilitation and wellness facility dedicated to providing exceptional, individualized care. Position Summary AVIR at Enchanted Rock is seeking compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to join our rehabilitation team in both Full-Time and Per Diem roles. Working collaboratively, OTs and COTAs help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities, maximize independence, and achieve their rehabilitation goals. The OT is responsible for patient evaluations, treatment planning, and overall therapy management, while the COTA provides skilled therapy interventions under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist in accordance with state regulations and professional standards. Key Responsibilities Occupational Therapist (OT) Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans. Assess physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial functioning to determine therapy needs. Establish measurable treatment goals and regularly reassess patient progress. Modify treatment plans based on patient response and clinical findings. Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), mobility, strength, coordination, and independence. Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, home exercise programs, and safety strategies. Supervise COTAs in accordance with state regulations and professional standards. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy team members, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning activities. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility, state, federal, and payer requirements. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve patient function, independence, and quality of life. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), therapeutic exercises, mobility training, coordination activities, and adaptive techniques. Observe, document, and report patient responses and progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Assist with patient and caregiver education regarding home programs, adaptive equipment, and safety recommendations. Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation. Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to ensure coordinated patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and care planning activities as appropriate. Adhere to all facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Occupational Therapist (OT) Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Texas Occupational Therapist license in good standing, or eligibility for licensure. Current CPR certification preferred. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term care, inpatient, or outpatient settings preferred. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current Texas COTA license in good standing, or eligibility for licensure. Current CPR certification preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term care, inpatient, or outpatient settings preferred.
