Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you will play a vital role in supporting patients' journey toward improved independence and well-being. Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to support patient independence Implement treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring therapy goals are met effectively Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists—to optimize patient outcomes Conduct patient transport within facilities and assist with manual handling to ensure safe movement of clients during therapy sessions Document care activities accurately and thoroughly in compliance with healthcare regulations and care documentation standards Contribute to care plans by providing detailed observations on patient progress and response to treatments Engage in patient communication and caregiver education to promote understanding and active participation in therapy processes Support patients in skilled nursing facilities. Apply knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging to enhance treatment effectiveness for clients with diverse needs Experience Prior experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities is highly preferred Demonstrated experience in acute care settings, skilled nursing facilities or inpatient environments is advantageous. Familiarity with geriatrics, occupational health and skilled nursing facility environments is desirable.
