Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing therapeutic interventions focused on improving children's motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities (ADLs). Support the development and execution of individualized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs and goals. Help facilitate therapy sessions by preparing equipment, setting up activities, and ensuring a safe environment for pediatric patients. Aid in documenting patient progress, updating treatment records, and communicating observations to the supervising therapist. Provide support with patient care tasks such as assisting with mobility, positioning, and other functional activities during therapy sessions. Contribute to home health visits by helping families understand therapy exercises and strategies to incorporate into daily routines. Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pediatric care principles to effectively support treatment plans across inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and clinic settings. Skills Strong knowledge of pediatrics, including developmental milestones and therapeutic techniques. Familiarity with assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) in various environments such as clinics or homes. Experience working in home health, acute care hospitals, inpatient units or outpatient clinics is highly desirable. Ability to understand and apply medical terminology related to pediatric care and occupational health. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to pediatric therapy interventions. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and healthcare team members. Prior experience in skilled nursing facilities or outpatient settings enhances your ability to adapt quickly and deliver exceptional support.
