Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a PRN basis! In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver exceptional patient care across a variety of settings. Your expertise will help patients of all ages regain independence and improve their quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility tasks, to promote independence and functional recovery Implement individualized care plans developed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring patient progress and safety Support therapy sessions in diverse environments such as inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health visits, and pediatric settings Monitor patient responses during therapy activities, documenting progress accurately and reporting any concerns to supervising therapists Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to enhance daily functioning at home or in community settings Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is preferred Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles Experience assisting with ADLs across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Familiarity with developing or supporting care plans tailored to individual patient needs Ability to work effectively in inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus on patient care excellence Excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams effectively Join us in delivering compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy services that empower patients to achieve their goals!
