In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through personalized therapy interventions. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises, to promote independence. Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve strength, coordination, and functional abilities. Document patient progress accurately and communicate updates to the healthcare team regularly. Help with patient education on safety measures and adaptive techniques for home or clinical settings. Support care delivery in various environments including acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment while adhering to all healthcare regulations and protocols. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles. Experience assisting with ADLs in diverse settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities. Familiarity with home health care procedures and outpatient therapy practices. Strong understanding of pediatrics, geriatrics, and acute care environments. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with patients of all ages.
