Graduate Occupational Therapy Program Instructor Slippery Rock University - 4.3 Harrisville, UT Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Doctoral degree Occupational therapy in academia Working with pediatric populations Pediatric occupational therapy Pediatrics Occupational Therapy License Full Job Description Slippery Rock University's Occupational Therapy Doctorate program within the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic and self-driven full-time, temporary faculty member to join our program team. This position is expected to start in Fall 2026. The role involves contributing to curriculum development, revision, implementation, and evaluation for our program, which trains future occupational therapists as generalists with a focus on the OT process across the lifespan. We are looking for a collaborative team player committed to advancing the SRU OT Program through an occupational justice framework and community engagement approach. As a key faculty member, you will be responsible for creating, delivering, and assessing course content aligned with program objectives. Responsibilities will involve classroom and laboratory instruction, scholarly activities, professional development, and university and program service. Additional responsibilities may include clinical site visits, representing the OTD program at professional events, recruiting applicants, advising students, community-engagement activities, and ensuring ACOTE accreditation standards are met. Ongoing clinical practice or research is encouraged. Minimum Qualifications Must hold a license to practice as an occupational therapist in the state of Pennsylvania. Must hold an earned doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency. Doctoral degrees are not limited to a doctorate in occupational therapy (ACOTE, A. 2. 5.). Must have documented expertise in their assigned areas of teaching responsibility. Content expertise and clinical experience in the following areas required: occupational therapy process with pediatric populations; development across the lifespan with a focus on occupational engagement. Successful performance in an on-campus interview is also required. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of three years of clinical practice. Prior experience with instruction in higher education. Prior higher education experience in instructing graduate health students is preferred. Evidence of strong teaching skills and use of instructional technology. Evidence of commitment to a scholarly agenda. Evidence of student advising, mentoring, or supervision. Evidence of commitment to professional advocacy/ occupational justice. The program values commitment to the education of diverse populations and inclusive learning environments. Professional association memberships at state and national levels are preferred.
