Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) serving school-aged students in a supportive educational environment near Salt Lake City, UT. This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with educators and therapists, making a direct impact on student success. You'll work with a caseload of approximately 45 students at a single school site, focusing on the unique needs of children and adolescents across varied grade levels.
Required Qualifications:
Valid Utah Professional License as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Recent or ongoing experience working within school settings preferred Up-to-date knowledge of best practices in occupational therapy for children and young people Excellent communication and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by supervising Occupational Therapists Support students in developing fine motor skills, adaptive techniques, and strategies to enhance daily participation in school activities Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy sessions Collaborate with team members (teachers, OT, families) to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Participate in occasional team meetings, providing valuable input into student care plans Engage students in both individual and group therapy sessions to help them achieve IEP goals This contract offers a steady schedule of 21.75 hours a week, distributed over three consistent days (8:30 am - 3:45 pm), which allows you to maintain a work-life balance while contributing positively to the school community.
