Job Description:

Summary:

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) has the responsibility of implementing treatment plans as outlined by the Occupational Therapist. The COTA adjusts the program within constraints and confers with other team professionals to provide patient care, provide education for patients and their families, and assist with discharge planning. Demonstrates an ability to select and implment an appropriate treatment plan based on the Occupational Therapy Evaluation. The plan of care is individualized to the patient's condition, needs, age, reflects current O.T. practice and provides direction for continuity of care. The COTA may be asked to assist with orientation of new employees or with the supervision of students.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Licenses and Certifications:

Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification in the appropriate state or eligibility for appropriate state's certification required CPR certification required
